Course summary

A training weekend course on outdoor learning as a means to developing emotional resilience. It is for experienced practitioners who are based in outdoor settings and want to enrich their resources to help build emotional resilience in the young people and families they work with, and for those who work with young people or families going through difficult times, and want to use outdoor settings to enhance their work.
Course participants will learn to assess and understand behaviour, develop strategies to support children and young people’s behaviour in outdoor settings; to assess and promote children and young people’s emotional literacy through outdoor activities; and to understand vulnerability and resilience, and how to promote resilience through being outdoors.
The course takes place indoors at Kings Heath Park, Birmingham UK and outdoors at Highbury Park, a short walk away.
