Course summary

Tadelakt is a waterproof, shiny lime-based plaster for interior and exterior use. Tadelakt's strength and marble-like appearance make it ideal for bathrooms, fireplaces, table tops, stairways, pillars and other ornamental use. This 1000-year old hard labor craftsman's work can only be placed by the Moroccan tradition, with lime from The Marakech Plateau, the only place where the original tadelakt lime can be found. That's where the word "tadelakt" comes from, it means "rub in", it's not the name of a product. In this case it is meant that the nearly finished lime coat is polished with a stone, rubbing tadelakt soap into the surface. The soap, based on pure olive oil, adds to the shine, but perhaps even more important, it makes the surface waterproof. The lime is colored with earth pigments to give a natural look.

During the course, we will talk about the preparation, explanation of requirements concerning suitable subsoils and surface, practical training, the finishing with soap and the maintenance...

The main goal of the workshop is that you try to do as much as possible by yourself and discover the secrets of Tadelakt.
What do you need to bring with you? The most important thing you need is a good mood, old shoes and clothes.
