Course summary

Transition Marlborough's well established introductory course starts again in March 2018 and runs over 12 - approximately fortnightly - Saturday mornings between then and mid-October.

The course covers (1) the ethics and principles and how they link to the Transition movement (2) a closer look at the design principles and how they emerged from closely observing nature, (3) an introduction to some of the practical design tools used in permaculture, (4) soil as a living system, (5) composting, (6) understanding renewable energy, (7) low energy living, reducing demand, (8) using biodiversity to manage 'pests', (9) pollinators and flying insects - the plankton of our landscape, (10) forest gardening and integrating chickens (11) social permaculture - application to human systems, (12) end of course celebration and next steps

All sessions are held at various home venues in and around Marlborough and hosted / facilitated by local permaculture practitioners. Refreshments are provided and cost includes a copy of 'Permaculture in a Nutshell'.
