Course summary

ABOUT THE COURSE
Spend a weekend engrossed in developing your skills in willow weaving and basketry on this course in the Hampshire South Downs. On this progressive course, you will weave a number of willow items which will give you the chance to practice basket making techniques before making your own basket. On Saturday, you will learn how to weave a decorative willow flower, which is the same technique used to weave the base of a stake and strand basket. Later on in the day, you will weave a willow drum-shaped lampshade using randing and waling weaves. On Sunday, you will put the skills you have practised making the flowers and lampshade together to make a small stake and strand basket, with different border options depending on your experience. Various colours of sustainably-sourced willow will be supplied to help you create beautiful decorative pieces.
