Willow Weaving – Linen / Laundry Basket

On this two day course you will be weaving a beautiful and practical ‘alibaba’ shaped linen / laundry basket, using a variety of naturally coloured willows.

We will make a traditional base with a German wale foot, and the sides can either be slewed or French randed and finished with a rod border. It is quite a big project, so we will only manage the main body of the linen / laundry basket in the two days. If you would like to make a lid, then it is recommended to book onto the following one day round basket course on the 22nd October – please see this for lid description. This course is ideally for people who have had some previous basketry experience.

All tools and materials provided. If you have your own sharp secateurs and a knife, please bring them along. Please wear warm old clothing. Places are limited to eight participants per event and must be booked in advance.
