Willow Weaving - Posy Basket

A one day traditional willow weaving workshop in which we will be using a variety of natural willows to make a little posy basket.

This is a little round basket with bow handle, incorporating a traditional base, waled and randed sides and a simple rod border. Suitable for beginners to start learning the basics of basket making or if you've made a basket before, as a refresher day.

You will be learning traditional ‘stake and strand’ basket making, using prepared basketry willow plus some grown at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre on the wetland system to add colour and texture.
