Course summary

A practical introduction to Permaculture
September 27-29th
At Lackan Cottage Permaculture Smallholding, Rathfriland, near Newry, County Down.

Permaculture explores practical ways in which we can provide food, shelter, energy & well being, for ourselves & our community, while also regenerating the health & wealth of this ecosystem of which we are a part.

In this weekend workshop we will work with some of the basic principles underlying permaculture design. We will explore their practical application at Lackan cottage where there are forest gardens, animals, water harvesting, woodlands, compost toilets, natural building, & more....

Participants will also get to grips with using the principles for themselves through some real life projects at the farm that need input.

We'll be on & in the landscape, connecting with our surroundings & with each other, we'll be starting from scratch, and coming back down to earth, working with nature to create simple solutions to meet our needs... In other words...
This will be a practical, heads, hearts & hands on workshop! so bring your wellies, and an open mind....
