The 15th International Permaculture Convergence (IPC15) will be in Taiwan from November 6th to December 8th, 2024, with the main Conference on November 30th to December 1st. This year’s theme, "Connecting Urban and Rural Communities for a Resilient Future", promises insightful discussions and practical solutions for sustainability.

What to expect:

Learning opportunities: With PDC courses running from November 6th to 27th, attendees will have ample opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills. Following the conference, PDC graduates can join a learning experience at Taromak Village in Taitung County, Taiwan, from December 4th to 8th.

Networking opportunities: IPC15 is more than just a conference; it's a chance to connect with like-minded individuals, share knowledge, and gain practical experience. Confirmed speakers: The event boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, including rDavid Holmgren, Robyn Francis, Satish Kumar, Rosemary Morrow, Morag Gamble, Andrew Millison, Jude Hobbs, Clea Chandmal, Eugenio Lemos, Sneha Koppula, Bert Peeters, Govinda Sharma, Peter Morehead, Avinash Pol, Christopher Nesbitt, Trish Allen, Yip Tsz Lam,  Yip Tsz Shing and Ya Jung Lin, among others. Keynote speeches, workshops, and hands-on projects will cover topics ranging from regenerative design to cultural integration and resilient livelihoods.

Volunteer Opportunities: For those looking to give a hand, volunteer positions are available for the convergence from December 4th to 8th. Volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring the event runs smoothly and will receive a discount on registration fees. Limited volunteer tickets are available, so apply early to secure your spot. Approved volunteers will receive a code from the IPC secretariat, providing a NTD4500 discount upon registration. Volunteers are required to work a four-hour daily shift between Dec 4 and Dec 8, 2024. Early arrival is encouraged to assist pre-convergence preparation, with food and accommodation provided. Arrival no later than 3:00 pm on Dec. 2 is necessary for orientation; late arrivals risk cancellation and a NTD4500 fee. Apply by June 15, 2024, for volunteer positions.

The event promises to be a unique experience for all attendees and it’s packed with opportunities to learn about urban and rural regenerative design, permaculture education for youth, support for refugees, cultural integration in design, resilient livelihoods, land management and promoting social harmony and health through permaculture.

At the heart of this event is Earth Passengers, an organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable living through permaculture design.
