Course summary

Our Building Resilience camp, now in the fifth year, is on a thriving OPD small-holding in West Wales which showcases what is possible on a market garden scale, however the activities are taught in such a way as to be useful no matter what size garden you have. Our camps cover permaculture in action: soil health and gut health, green-woodworking - make a spatula or kraut pounder, regenerative agriculture techniques including advanced compost making, immune boosting tonics and mindfulness exercises The activities are hands-on and varied, and there is also time to share and hang out together around the fire. There is wheelchair accessibility to parts of the site. Finn, a FLAME member who came on last years Young Person Camp said in his feedback, “An amazing weekend, led by 2 amazing women, filled with lots of different activities allowing lots of learning to be had! Also an incredible way to see an OPD scheme in action”. The camp is run by Peni Ediker and Melissa Holloway who have both done their PDC well over a decade ago and both live on off-grid small-holdings. They have over 50 years food growing experience between them and love sharing their skills and their connection to the land with others.
