Course summary

A wonderfully inspiring weekend learning Permaculture basics - ethics, principles and design tools to re-imagine your life, your garden, farm, community or any project for sustainability, regeneration and abundance - its not just for gardeners!

We have had excellent feedback from our previous courses and continually enhance the programme which is based on the well tested Permaculture Association curriculum. You will leave with the tools to get started, your first design and hopefully motivated to deepen your knowledge.

This weekend introduction is quite intensive but thought provoking, fun and motivational too, it includes group work, films and slideshow, class room sessions and outdoor sessions with contributions from members of the residential community. If you have a project in mind already you can bring details otherwise we will help you identify a first project.

There are many examples of permaculture in practice at Braziers Park and it is a beautiful and restorative 60 acres of secluded Oxfordshire countryside to enjoy.

Community contributions may include short talks and demos on any of the following:
Natural bee-keeping
Organic food growing
Compost making
Food storage and preserving
Community living
Group process work
Scything
Renewable energy
Water harvesting
House History Tour
RISC Roof Garden

The course will take place in a comfortable converted cow shed in an ancient orchard surrounded by wildflower meadows. All organic lunches & refreshments are included. Camping in the orchard is available at extra cost and nearby B&B is also available. On Saturday evening we will walk through the woods and lanes to the nearby King William pub for our evening meal and finish the night with a big campfire -musical or other entertainments welcome. See also our November listing based in the main house with accommodation available.
