Introduction to Permaculture Design 2017

FIRSTLY, WHAT IS PERMACULTURE?!

It’s a design tool that gets you from idea to positive action. Permaculture supports you in changing your life and work to become more sustainable, in connection with nature and caring for yourself and others. Permaculture is about observing how nature works and using these principles as our guidelines in our gardens, our home, for sustainable land management, for businesses and organisations, in our communities and even for personal development.

In this course we will explore the basics of permaculture design, giving you the chance to dip your toes and test out the water at our community in Norfolk.

WHAT WILL WE LEARN?

Starting at the basics of answering ‘what is permaculture?’. We will look at how permaculture originated, some of the key theories and the important ethics at its core. We will explore how to use “design tools” and principles, alongside practising and honing observation skills. Together we will investigate the possibility of permaculture and its applications in a number of different situations.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

This course is open to anyone who believes that we need to find new ways to care for ourselves, for each other and for the Earth. Join a like-minded, small group of people on this introductory practical course and bring in the possibility of positive life changes.

WHERE CAN THIS COURSE LEAD ME?

You will leave this course with a solid grounding of how you can apply permaculture principles in your home, garden, flat, farm or even lifestyle. Also its a chance for you to hit the ground running with the potential to sign up to the full Permaculture Design Course (a 72-hour course certified by the Permaculture Association of Great Britain).
