Course summary

Many people dream of setting up or living in a community, but are unsure how to go about it. This two day course offers an overview of what is involved and gives you time to think about making this dream a reality.

Based on their own experience and the successes and challenges encountered in communities around the UK and Europe, facilitators Tomas Remiarz and Jed Picksley will share lessons for setting up and running a housing and land project.

We will look at :

How can individual values be used to define a shared vision, and how can that vision be used to guide the practical day-to-day running of a project?

How does a group create stability and security for existing members, while remaining open to the inevitable change arriving with new people? How can a group come to agreements that respect both shared values and diverging individual points of view?

We will also cover business planning, fundraising options and legal structures.

During the course there will be time to clarify your own ideas, share dreams and learn from other people’s experiences.

Fee : Full rate , includes all meals - £160 to £200 (Sliding scale - pay what you can afford according to your income).
