Low Carbon Living and the Climate Emergency Inspired by Holmgren's Permaculture

We can declare our own climate emergencies at home with our families and with our lives at work and at home. What would this look like? 
These evenings aim to empower us to plan for the worst and hope for the best. To shake ourselves out of the crazy panic. To uncover some ways we can make a difference in our own lives that will help reduce our carbon emissions, support the natural systems and meet our human needs.
All evenings will include:  An overview and introduction to Permaculture thinking through principles and patterns applied to low carbon living- Practical activity. Don't panic! Whats the problem? An overview of tools to apply. With an emphasis on low cost and easy to implement take home ideas solutions. A look at the 3 Bs. This workshop has been inspired by David Holmgren's RetroSuburbia. The Downshifter's Guide to a Resilient Future
Evening 1. The Behavioural Field: Patterns of Decision and Action and includes how we make beneficial connections. This is the peoplecare section. Arguably the key to change is how we behave. Carbon footprint. Calming eco-anxiety.
Evening 2 Biological Field: Patterns of life and growth. This explores effective land and resource use and includes growing food. Land regeneration.
Evening 3. Built Field: Patterns of Human Habitats. This looks at the built environment and includes eco-retrofitting your home. Energy. Water. Humanure.

This is an evolving course and we plan to harvest and share insights.
