Medicinal Plant Identification and Foraging
With community herbalist Rasheeqa Ahmad. The first of three herbal days this year at Braziers. Gather with a group of keen green explorers, roaming the beautiful springtime grounds seeking out seasonal medicinal plants. Learn which parts of the plant to use, when they are gathered and approaches to respectful responsible foraging. We’ll discuss traditional uses and folklore, current therapeutic applications of the herbs by herbalists, preparation methods and how you can use the plants yourselves at home. In the afternoon will focus on practical pharmacy, tasting one or two of our foraged herbs in healing infusions and making a nourishing spring mineral vinegar to take home.
