Course summary This Permaculture Design Course is ideal for those who would prefer to spread their learning over four long weekends; a monthly get away in the beautiful Kent countryside. The emphasis in permaculture courses is on training to think in a permacultural way; by looking for win-win situations, getting more out by putting less in, by getting nature to do your gardening for you, and always looking for more yields that can be harvested from a system whilst taking nothing from the land and nature which is not returned back to it. We will aim to visit permaculture projects in the area, and include a range of optional evening activities such as DVDs and open discussions. The final part of the permaculture course involves working in a group to produce an original permaculture design using the tools and techniques covered earlier in the course. There is no exam! The second weekend will focus on food growing, foraging, eco gardening and forest gardening and the third weekend will focus sustainable buildings, energy systems and sustainable communities and economies. These weekends can be attended as stand alone courses for those studying for their Permaculture Diploma.
