Permaculture Scotland Gathering 2020

Due to Covid-19, we are sorry to have to say that the Permaculture Scotland 2020 gathering is postponed until further notice.

We are monitoring the situation closely and are looking forward to hosting the gathering in Findhorn as and when it is safe to do so. This may either be September 2020, or June 2021, we are still unable to say.

All ticket sales are currently suspended. If you have purchased a ticket, it will still be valid for the event when it takes place. If you wish to cancel your ticket, you will get a full refund minus a small banking fee (which we have already incurred). To cancel please email: [email protected].uk

Until we can see each other in person again, we are looking into hosting online events, webinars and gatherings - stay tuned for more information on this!

The Scotland Permaculture Gathering 2020 is happening at the iconic Findhorn Park Ecovillage with our hosts the Findhorn Hinterland Trust. The theme for this year's gathering is...

Permaculture's Emergency Response:
The Spirit of Findhorn meets The Essence of Permaculture in Unprecedented Times.

This is going to be a great opportunity to reflect, learn and connect in our response to the climate and environmental emergency.

The event ticket includes vegetarian food from Friday Dinner to Sunday lunch from the catering alchemist Rob, plus a tent pitch (with access to compost toilets, sorry no showers), which can be added to booking, if required. There are several options for more comfortable accommodation that need to be booked and paid for separately with the providers (links below) - best you book that accommodation early if required, as we're anticipating a record turnout!

  • Available with every ticket will be wild (tented) camping on allocated pitches (a contribution to the cleanup would be great). Note that these are very basic, with access to makeshift compost toilets but no showers or electricity.
  • More comfortable camping (with showers, etc) include pitches for: tents, motorised campers, caravans, statics, etc and can be booked through the holiday park – 5 minutes’ walk from the event site
  • There are also local B&Bs close to the event and a youth hostel in the neighbouring village of Findhorn, 20 minutes’ walk away.
  • Parking will be extremely limited, please use public transport. We're anticipating having a shuttle running from the nearby railway station (Forres).
Expect a fascinating programme including walks, talks, workshops, practicals and music. Join us for a weekend of inspiring permaculture, campfires, music and dancing in an amazing location.

Volunteering

Volunteering forms the backbone of our gathering and we rely on the support of many helping hands to have a graceful event! We have a limited number of volunteer tickets - in return for a few shifts during the weekend you will get the event for free and only need to pay for your food (£28 for the weekend). Tasks include registration and info tent, sign posting, supporting meals and dishes, etc.
