Permaculture Scotland Gathering 2020

Due to Covid-19, we are sorry to have to say that the Permaculture Scotland 2020 gathering is postponed until further notice.

We are monitoring the situation closely and are looking forward to hosting the gathering in Findhorn as and when it is safe to do so. This may either be September 2020, or June 2021, we are still unable to say.

All ticket sales are currently suspended. If you have purchased a ticket, it will still be valid for the event when it takes place. If you wish to cancel your ticket, you will get a full refund minus a small banking fee (which we have already incurred). To cancel please email: [email protected].uk

Until we can see each other in person again, we are looking into hosting online events, webinars and gatherings - stay tuned for more information on this!

HOW DO I FIND ACCOMMODATION?

All the links to accommodation are on our logistics page here

HOW IS THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE?

We strongly advise to use public transport as limited parking may be anything between 5 and 30mins walk away. More information can be found HERE.  You will be met by volunteers with wheelbarrows to get you to your accommodation. You can use this Google Maps link too!

If you are driving, don't go alone, share your car with others! We set up a Facebook CAR SHARE GROUP to enable matching people up. Apologies to everyone who doesn't use Facebook, but at the moment we don't have resources to set this up otherwise. We’d be happy to copy and paste offers and requests on the group on your behalf. You are welcome to use other car sharing platforms such as Liftshare.

ARE THERE ANY KIDS ACTIVITIES?

Parents and carers will be welcome to leave children aged 4+ at the children's space while they attend workshops. The children will be engaged in lots of fun activities and allowed space for free play in the outdoor spaces provided. The space is is managed by a qualified children's activities leader but we do ask that any parent doing so also signs up to help out in the children's area for one session. Younger children will be welcome to join in with their parent or carer.

DO YOU TAKE VOLUNTEERS?

Yes, our event is powered solely by volunteers and we welcome your support. Get in touch via email here or on Facebook Messenger, tell us something about yourself and let us know your availability. We will reply as soon as we can to discuss your potential involvement.

Findhorn also welcomes volunteers to help the site get ready for the event. You can find out more about volunteering with them HERE

CAN I BRING MY BUSINESS TO THE GATHERING?

We welcome businesses to have a table/marquee at the event and distribute their products or offer services, as long as they are in line with permaculture ethics.

Please, get in touch via email here to discuss your involvement.

ARE THERE ANY SHOWERS ON THE SITE?

Wild campers will not have access to showers on site (the sea is nearby for those that fancy a dip). If access to showers is required please book other accommodation.  Provision will be made for compost toilets and hand washing facilities.

HOW DO I BOOK PARKING SPACE?

You can contact Findhorn to arrange a parking spot, get in touch via email here.

TICKS

The ticks in this part of Scotland can carry Lyme's disease - so we encourage you to be extra vigilant, remove any ticks as soon as you find them using an appropriate tool, tuck your trousers into your socks if you're concerned, and best to refrain from lying naked in the grass if at all possible.

Image removed.DOGS

The Findhorn Hinterland Trust manages the land for green burials among other things and request that dog owners to keep their dogs on a lead at all times while in the woods with no exceptions.

You may walk your dogs off the lead off-site (eg the dunes, the beach etc) but please not in the woods.
